Organizes a National Seminar on "Skills and Technologies for an Emerging India"

On September 2, 2009, a one-day National Seminar on "Skills and Technologies for an Emerging India" was held in UIM Seminar Hall. Dr. D. S. Chauhan, Vice-Chancellor, Uttarakhand Technical University, had graced the occasion with his benign presence. It was also attended by The Chairman, Senior Management Members, Faculty Members and select Students of Uttaranchal Institute of Management.

The seminar was sponsored by IETS and INTEL. Mr. Vikrant Abrol, CEO of IETS threw light on rising employment opportunities in Knowledge and IT Industry. He emphasized the need for acquisition of the right skills by the students to have a successful career. Dr. Pradeep Suri, Director, UIM, called upon the students to learn diverse skills to take advantage of rising opportunities in emerging India. The seminar was widely covered by the Media.
FACULTY MOVES FORWARD

Mr. Dev Kant Kala, Mr. V.K.Tangri, Mrs. Dilraj Wadhwa, Mr. Abhishek Chauhan, Ms. Shilpi Mittal and Mrs. Tweena Pandey presented their papers on HRM subjects at a National Seminar sponsored by ITS Institute of Management, Greater Noida on 22nd and 23rd August, 2009. The papers by Dev Kant Kala, Mrs. Dilraj Wadhwa, Ms. Shilpi Mittal were also published in the compendium issued on the occasion.


Our IT Faculty Mrs. Sonal Sharma and Mr. Fahimuddin attended a prestigious National Work-shop from 6th to 18th July, 2009, on “E-Commerce” under Faculty Development Program, at Moti Lal Nehru National Institute of Technology, Allahabad. It was sponsored by Ministry of HRD, Government of India and AICTE, and it was addressed by luminaries from IITs and IIMs and from countries like USA and England. They also presented their talks on “Data Ware Housing And Data Mining in Business Intelligence” and “Role of Communication Media in E- Commerce” respectively.


Mrs. Ritika Arora presented her paper on “Searching Malicious Host” at an AICTE sponsored National Seminar, organized by Institution of Engineers, Udaipur on October 11, 2009. Mr. Saurabh Joshi submitted his thesis for Ph.D on “Critical Evaluation of Working Capital Management in Iron and Steel Industry of India” in July 2009 with Kumaon University, Nainital.


Mr. Himanshu Bahuguna's co-authored paper on “Application of Massive Network to various Tele Communication Schemes” was published in an International Journal of Graphic Era University. Mr. Dev Kant Kala authored a book on “Logistics Management” for graduate management courses. It has received enthusiastic response from the student community.


Mrs. Dilraj Wadhwa has registered herself for Ph.D program on “Motivation Through Quality Circle – A Case Study based on AMUL” through Chaudhary Charan Singh University, Meerut. Her new book on “Training and Development” written for BBA students has just been released. Mr. Abhishek Singh Chauhan has registered for Ph.D on "Programme Evaluation - Its Review and Impact on Employee Motivation" with UTU, Lucknow. Mrs. Tweena Pandey registered for Ph.D on "Approach of Supervisors Towards Employee Retention under Economic Disaster" from UTU, Lucknow. Mr. Jitendra Singh is pursuing his M.Phil in “Business Administration” from Nagaland University.
