Nature and extent of involvement of faculty and students in academic affairs/improvements:
The Faculty and students are actively involved in the academic affairs of the Institute. The faculty members have staff meeting once every month wherein they discuss ongoing academic affairs of the institute and suggest improvements. The student coordinators of all the classes and sections are asked to give their suggestions for improvement of the academic affairs. The suggestion given by the faculty members and class coordinators are positively considered by the management and necessary improvements are immediately made in furtherance of the academic culture of the institution.

    Proposal under final stage of approval with the government of Uttarakhand..However, provisional fee of Rs. 85,000/- per annum is charged for MBA and Rs. 80,000/- for MCA as approved for similarly placed self financed institutions at Dehradun (Uttarakhand) by government of Uttarakhand.

    No one applied for fee waiver. However a incentive scheme for meritrious students has been formulated .

    The concession will be given to students of MBA and MCA.falling within first three position in the University as incentive to the students for overall better performance.

  • Criteria for fee waivers/scholarship:

    i)
    Scholarship to SC/ST/OBC students is arranged from Distt. Social Welfare Office Dehradun Uttarakhand.
    Wherein full fee paid by students is reimbursed.
    ii)
    Institute scholarship will be granted on the basis of University exam results and University merit obtained.
    iii)
    Fee waiver is planned for meritorious, poor and needy students from session 2008-09.

IX.Criteria and weightage for Admission

  • Describe each criteria with its respective weightages i.e. admission test, GD, Interview etc. : Admissions are done through Counseling for MBA as per merit of MAT conducted by AIMA and MCA on the basis of UTUEE Score in the open counseling conducted by the State Govt./Uttarakhand Technical University.

  • Mention the minimum level of acceptance: As per merit of MAT in the state counseling for MBA against the state quota, All India seats and management quota. Lowest score admitted through counseling in this Institution was MAT- 702.5 highest score and 307.5 lowest score and MCA on UTUEE Rank Highest 693, Lowest 1447.

  • Mention the cutoffs levels of percentage and percentile scores (section wise and / or total as the case may be) of the candidates called for GD / Interview: The admissions are made through counseling of registered candidates in presence of Govt. Nominee and Uttarakhand Technical University Representative on the basis of MAT score. No GD or interview is taken after selection through counseling.

XII. CRITERIA FOR GD/PERSONAL INTERVIEW

  • Creteria for GD/Personal Interview
    Norms adopted for calling the candidates for Group Discussion/Personal Interview.(It has to be strictly in order of Merit).No GD / Interview of the candidates is taken as seats are filled through conseling on the basis of merit of MAT score for MBA.Admission to MCA are arranged by Uttarakhand Technical University through open counseling on merit of UTUEE rank.

TEACHING AND LEARNING PROCESS:

  • Teaching Load of each faculty.
    The available 30 (29 + 1 Director) faculty members are generally exercised to following teaching load in conformity to AICTE norms.

    Director:  3 to 4 hours per week
    Professor:
    8 to 9 hours per week
    Asst. Professors:
    12 to 13 hours per week
    Lecturers:
    15 to 16 hours per week

    Internal continuous evaluation system in place.

    The internal continuous evaluation available in the institute is divided into 3 parts:

    1.
    Home and class assignments to the students atleast once in a week in each paper.
    2. Three internal tests in semester with a gap of 4 or 5 weeks.
    3. Assessment of students on the basis of General Behaviour, Attendance and participation in extra curricular activities etc.

    • Students Assessment of faculty, system in place: The students are given opportunity to give their independent feed back of the faculties teaching them on a proforma provided to them once in three months. The short coming of the faculty, if any, reported are pluged by suitable counseling to the concerned faculty by the Director. If need arises the faculty is deputed for in service training to improve upon their teaching skills.
